Die Wasserspeier übrigens entstanden nicht durch Pressen des Pressmehls, sondern durch Gießen von flüssigem Tonschlicker in entsprechende Gipsformen.

Tiles for a variety of applications
The first decorative tiles from the Boizenburg tile factory were produced using the elaborate slip trailing technique. As the first step, the workers – usually women – would dab the pattern onto the fired tile blanks with wood ash through a perforated template. They applied the slip along the previously dabbed lines using a slip trailer filled with watered down clay. Separated by the raised slip, the subsequently applied coloured glazes would not bleed into each other during firing. Since this technique is very labour-intensive, high volumes could not be produced and these tiles are correspondingly valued by collectors today.
